I have 3 handsets, and they all behave differently.

The screens sends back "incompatible" when dialing out. I tried putting ?/./0; one of the handsets started working.

The message seems to come from the IP Office, as if it found no match for the SC. Every base extension works; I did a logout/login and one (not the same) started working, but that was before I changed the SC from 9N to ?.

The system is 9.0.4; release notes from 9.0.5 doesn't mention anything about a similar bug.

So as soon as you dial a number it says incompatible?
Usually it means something went wrong with the registration.
I would do the following :
On the handset : Unregister from the system
In IP Office Manager : delete all IP Dect extensions and users and check in the IP Dect line if these extensions actually are erased.
In the IP Dect web page go to users and delete them all.
In IP Office manager make sure that autocreate extension & autocreate users for DECT is enabled
Reboot the whole lot and register the handsets, after registration the hand set has a temp number, dial the desired number followed with a #. The phone should be working fine now.

It sounds like there is no user in the IPO itself.
But I have seen odd issues which only could be solved by rebooting dect and IPO.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Oh, forgot this one because I assume you know your basics : Avaya IP Endpoint licenses installed?
