We recently had a problem with one of our NSS volumes where there are some corrupted/damaged files left over. When trying to delete the file I get "Cannot delete file, directory, or volume. Syntax is incorrect". Any ideas how I can get rid of these files?

Thanks

Try deleting the files from the NetWare Portal or by using Netbasic or Toolbox from the server console. Have you also tried rebooting if all else fails, then deleting the files?

Are you on NW6.0??

There was a serious problem with SP3 that caused compressed files to go corrupt. The files are impossible to delete until you fix them.. Best thing to do is to make sure you are patched, then verify (and rebuild if necessary) your pool, then get the utility called COMPFIX (Might be on your system already) and run it to repair any corrupted compressed files.

If it's not a corrupt compressed file, The methods Thelad mentioned usually work pretty good.
