cant create time dimension on the analysis manager

Dear All ,

I have a question and i hope you have the answer.

I was working with the olap server 97 now am trying to use the 2000 when i try to add a date dimension i get this message (

unable to count he members of the 'Year' level
unable to open the record set
Error : TimeOut expired
)

note : i have OS : windows 2000 server
i installed the analysis Manager and the service pack3

please reply to me if you know the reasons

are you attempting to build your time dimension directly from your fact table? If so that could be the problem. Using a seperate table for your time dimension is probably the most efficient way. Paul
