Can't create subscription for linked report using SSMS

Anyone have any idea why I can create/edit a subscription on a deployed report but not on a linked report based on it? Subscriptions are accessible through Report Manager, but its so much less convenient than using Management Studio.

According to Microsoft support, this is a limitation of Management Studio 2005
