I have a form that is working off a table. I was told to create a controlled value field with 2 possible options. I figured the best way to do this would be with a [combo box]. I created a seperate table with only 2 fields with the 2 pieces of data that I want to go into the 2 possible choices for the [combo box]. I just want to click on the arrow and see the 2 possible choices for the combo box.

I cant get it to work though, and it is driving me crazy.

Can anyone help?

I am an Access neophyte and would appreciate any help given.

Hi Messenger:

No need to create a table to hold the two values you are looking to use.

1.)Open the form in design view, ensure that the wizard (wand) is selected on your toolbar.

2.)select the combo box and drag to the desired size on your form.

3.) The combo box wizard will open. Select the option " I will type the vaues I want" (next button)

4.) Enter the two values (next button)

5.) tyoe the label name for the combo box

6.) Right click on the combo box and select Properties

7.) Select Data tab

8.) Set teh Limit to List = Yes

All done!

Cheers,

Thanks for responding.

I followed your instructions but when I tested it the drop down selection had the 2 fields of data on the same line. How do I remedy this?

I am getting farther than I have in the past 2 hours in these 10 minutes.

No problem Messenger....

Go back to your form and delete the combo box

Follow the same steps except

4.) Enter the first value, use your down arrow to get to the next line (next button)

Continue as outlined above.

I see my mistake and understand the process. Thanks for the help.

I am learning.

No problem at all, glad to be of some assistance.

Cheers,
