HP computer (about 3 y.o.), Win XP, Office 2007.

My PC crashed, and I used PC Recovery (from the "D" drive) to revive the machine and then reinstalled Office 2007. That part seems to have worked, and Excel, Word and Access seem okay.

However, in Outlook, when I click Tools / Account Settings, I get a dialog box with this message: [blue]The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, reinstall Outlook.[/blue]

Well, the problem did persist, even after I reinstalled Outlook. I also ran "repair" on Outlook, with no luck.

Also, if I go to Control Panel, Mail, and click on E-Mail Accounts, nothing happens.

Any ideas? I really need my email.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Until you get Outlook up and running, you could configure Outlook Express.

Thanks for the response JPaules.

At least Outlook Express let me get to the point where I could attempt the configuration.

After several tweaks, I can now SEND mail from OL Express but I still cannot receive mail.

Very frustrating; I'll keep at it.
