I have a Samsung CD-R/RW drive and I need to copy file to a DVD-R disk. Is this possible? and if not what do I need to do to copy large files to my DVD-R disks.
Thanks as always.

You need to use one of the many burning utilities. You should have received at least an OEM version with your DVD burner. Typically the OEM versions will be from Roxio, NeoDVD, NERO and a plethora of other companies.

These utilities prepare the disk for writing (much like formatting a hard drive for use) and provide an interface for you to select files for burning to the disk.

You need a DVD±R/RW.
A CD-R/RW is not capable of burning data to a DVD disc.

Crikcey! I missed the obvious there! Of course, you need a DVD burner too. No wonder my forehead is going flat.
