This morning I updated a box with the W2K rollup. The update procedure went well. No problems. I rebooted the machine as the update procedure requested. When I attempted to connect to the Internet via my browser (FireFox) it failed! I tried several applications Outlook, IE, ZoneAlarm just to name a few. At this point reaching the Internet is impossible.

I ran a LspFix followed by a WinsockFix and rebooted the machine. When the machine rebooted I still could not reach the Internet. :(

What am I missing (besides the Internet)?
What should I do next?

Any suggestions are comments are welcome!

It could be a bad cable. Did you try ipconfig /all to see if all the looked normal?

Thank you for replying htmlman!

What I have done is uninstalled the update and everything has returned to normal. NOW that I have read about the update from ZDnet I think that Microsoft may have a little more fine tuning to do.

Folks are have a time with the update. In fact, you can send your problems with the update to Microsoft directly. That's pretty good! I am sure they will find the solutions.

So for now I am going to wait a bit before trying the update again.

Thanks again!
Cheers!
