Can't connect to the framework 3.6

I can't connect to the framework (v 3.6) using the Tivoli Desktop
I have installed the framework in Win 2000 Pro SP2
the instllation is OK
but when I want to connect to the framwork from the same Pc i can't, a message telling me verify the network is up
and the password is corect
I verify both of them but the same problem
can you help me ???

Most of the time when the Desktop for Windows is used to access Tivoli and it fails, there is some authentication/password issue.
You should be able to bring the desktop up from the command line by sourcing the Tivoli environment (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\tivoli\setup_env.cmd) then issueing the command: tivoli

what user ID are you using? usually the current logged user during the installation of framework is the default user. if you are using Administrator, make sure that you login as 'Administrator' (without the quotes), tivoli is case sensitive.

I too have a similar issue with one of my users...the boss. We are tying to access our framework (v4.2) via the Windows Tivoli Desktop from his machine and are only able to log in via 'root' but not using his assigned Unix ID.

When trying to log in via my laptop using either root or his user ID, I have no issues whatsoever. Been searching all my documentation and the Tivoli support site and have not found any work around, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on this...as I think it must be some sort of authentication issue that I can not uncover.

(He is full admin on the unix box, in Tivoli, his own laptop, etc. )
