Hope someone can help, I'm very limited with SQL Experence.

We have a SQL 2000 running on a Win2003 server. 8 other workstations connect fine, But 1 2000 workstation cant connect. First we could not see the instance or the server(SQL) but could browse the server through the network.

We applied MDAC 2.8sp1 now we can see the server and the Engine but when trying to connect we get an error that its not a valid database engine? It seems like there is a firewall in the way but I removed Mcafee and AOL spyware junk. Did a Malware sweep and the system is clean.

Anyone have some ideas I can try?

Thanks
Mike
