ur feedback is a very welcome desire

also look at the inittab and gettydef entries that each system is using.
Is this a uucp, ppp, or terminal session?

In all the remote servers the pointer to gettydefs in the inittab had 'm' while the host had '9600'. Though both labels have the same meaning when I replaced the '9600' with 'm', it worked! Thanx a lot.

Not really the same meaning:
m is for fixed rate at 9600
9600 is for cycling between 9600,4800,2400,1200,300,19200.

Hope This Help
