Can't connect to Oracle 8i Personal Ed.

Hello, I'm totally new at Oracle and I'm in desperate need of help. It's for a project for the university.


I have Oracle 8i Personal Edition running on Windows 98 and Developer 6.

Whenever I try to connect to Oracle through the Form Builder I get an error that tells me something about TNS or something like that (I can't check the message again now, I'm at work and I have Oracle at home).

Please can someone give me a very detailed explanation on how to configure everything properly? (Please explain it in a very basic, step by step form since I am a total newbie).

Any help is very appreciated.

Configure the net 8 easy configuration. I n that when its is asking the protocol you give bequeath. Give this service name while ur connecting through the Developer
