Hello. I'm trying to connect to mysql server using JDBC, but it kept rejecting the connection stating that either mysql server is not running or I'm not connected to the correct port. However, I verified both to be correct. I'm working on Windows2000 platform. I may have located the problem in that the server connection is stated as being
". via named pipe"
instead of
"localhost via TCP/IP"
The problem is I don't know how to change the server info. It's not located under the server variables section.

thanks,
qt
