OK Here's a new one for me:
I had one of my users "accidentally" replace most of his Windows files.
When he tried to re-boot the system gave him a non-system disk error.
I had my assistant re-load Windows onto the hard drive.
Now here's where it gets wierd:
The machine can ping all the local macines on the LAN. It can access any shared resources on the LAN. It can pin and come back wiht the IP address.
It can not get onto the internet (Internet Explorer)
It can not get mail from an in-house email server.
We have some Intranet web pages you can get to them until you add the http to the address then you get the "this page can not be found" message.
I am at a loss.
1. We have replaced the winsock files (Got them from the 98se install disk cab files).
2. Uninstalled and re-installed tcp/ip.
3. Tried to install a new NIC (same results)
Can anybody tell me what VooDoo is happening here I am completely befuddled.
Thanks
Matt
