I'm having the same problem that was mentioned in thread766-1131562, but that post was never resolved. I'm using Crystal v8.5 and Excel 2003. I've created an ODBC data source in Windows, but when I try to add the data source to a report, I get the message "No Items Found" when I expand on the data source. I've done this in Crystal v10 with no problems...is there an additional step necessary in v8.5?

Thanks,

-Dave

It should work in CR 8.5 as well, however you don't need to use ODBC, I think that the data files in CR 8.5 allowed for Excel as well.

Also test your ODBC connection to Excel from MS Access to see if it is recognizing the data as valid.

Just to resolve this here, I figured out the solution. I had to set up a named range in the Excel spreadsheet. Now, when I select the DSN for the spreadsheet, the named range shows up when I expand on the datasource.
