Hi,

I've just downloaded a ton of code in a beginning Wrox book to create a forum. But the book's instructions are rather vague. It tells me to load the setup.php file (one of about 20 I downloaded) into my browser. But it doesn't tell the path to use.

Also, in the conn.php file, you have to fill in the following info:

SQL_HOST
SQL_USER
SQL_PASS
SQL_DB

I don't know if I'm using the correct username.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks. Kara

is this a local server? everything on one machine? then the usual host is 'localhost'.

there are four default accounts with mysql

root no passord from localhost
root no passord from anywhere
emptyuser no passord from localhost
emptyuser no passord from localhost

for your protection and db security, you need to add a password to the root accounts and delete the user accounts and create your own

read this section in the manual
