Hi
I am trying to connect to an Access database via ODBC using a 3rd party software package. However, every time I try to connect, it comes up with the error:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Could not find file "(unknown)"

I have tested the ODBC connection using a seperate test program and it works fine. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening?

Thanks very much

What version of the Access Jet drivers are on the target computer? What versions of these drivers is the 3rd party software trying to use?

What you have may depend on the versions of Access used (Jet 3.x vs Jet 4.0 for example). Try getting all versions of the drivers installed and see if you still get the problem. You might have to download from Microsoft.

Thanks zemp

I've actually just located the problem - the 3rd party software I was using was actually using a different DSN to the one specified, and it was this unspecified DSN that was configured incorrectly! Grrr....

Thanks for your response
