I have limited knowledge and experience with bcm and I need help to access it. I tried LAN 1 with ip address 10.10.10.1 and LAN 2 192.168.42.80. Their was a power failure and afterwards bcm did not recovered. LAN 2 is connected on a router and our customer network is up. Their desktop is connected on the IP phone ethernet port. I tried with my laptop and was able to browse the web but I cant connect to the BCM LAN 2 and I cant ping it either, even in LAN 1 when I tried to connect to it directly, I cant ping the address too. Sorry I dont have info about the bcm I only knew its bcm 400, with 2 GATM and a DS module. By the way all the LED's in the bcm are all green after power reset but I cannot connect to the system to see whats in it. I haven't try to connect to the serial port as I didn't have the chance today. Any suggestion what parts/unit that needs to be replace so the phone system will work again. Thanks.

The power unit or the BCM 400 hard disk could have failed. Best thing I would do is to power it off completely and open up the unit with the power lead removed first and give it a good clean as I've known them to get very dirty inside.

Check all the leads and perhaps reconnect them all again. Then I would remove and check the modules are OK and connect up a serial lead from your computer using standard settings such as 9600 baud and 8 n 1 etc.

As you have a BCM 400, use a cross over Ethernet cable from your computer to the BCM's LAN1 or LAN 2 port and set up a constant ping when you power it up.

Whilst you are cleaning out the BCM internals, check the main motherboard for any damaged or leaking capacitors etc.
I've known the hard disk to fail on the BCM 400 whereby the IP / Voicemail has failed and yet the phone system is still running as long as the phones are the wired ones.

You could also remove the hard disk and connect it onto another computer via e.g. a USB cable to see if the disk is damaged. The older BCM 400 systems were NT based and the 4.0 version was Linux.
