Please help! We've successfully installed new MAP-D card, but failed to directly access it via Admin Port B (RS-232C connector) with HyperTerminal software to do the initial set up.
The installation document we use is "CallVisor Applications over MAPD.pdf" (555-230-136 Issue 1 July 2001). Thanks in advance!

Either the MAPD isn't working or you don't have the correct cables. Try connecting the modem, reboot the MAPD and dial in. Look for the cable part numbers in the manual. you may also need a null modem adapter. You might want get a serial adapter with LED lights to tell you if you are correctly connecting.

Once booted the LED should give you the AINIT.\

There are no "new" MAPD boards. Avaya stopped manufacuring awhile ago.

Thanks jimbojimbo!

Correct, no "new" MAP-D, just refubs. The card does have AINIT after the reboot. No alarm son the card either. We actually took the cable (G311) currently used on another existing MAP-D for the modem. I will ask my IT guy about null modem adapter.

Why don't you just connect over IP.

[Started on Version 3 software 15 years a go]

It does not have an IP address yet, we have to directly connect to it first via R-232 cable. It will be on LAN after everything is set up.

Yes you need a null modem to be able to see this unit on the 715 terminal.

We tried to connect it to a laptop via "HyperTerminal" software without a null modem adapter yesterday, it did not work. We will find a null modem adapter and try again.

Thanks, techma1!
