I'm trying to conditionally format a spreadsheet that my boss gave me to reflect products we carry and products that are special order items. For some reason, the conditional formatting option is greyed out. I've tried clearing all other formatting that may conflict with this. The file is in Excel 2003 format.

TIA

Is the workbook Shared? Or is this aspect Protected? Usually that sort of issue is caused by one of those things.

The last time I heard this question, the person wasn't selecting any cells before clicking Format.

Are you selecting a range first?

It is a shared file, I'll try "un-sharing" it. And yes, I've selected cells first :)

I just tried it. It was because the workbook was shared.

Thanks again people.
