i'm painfully running veritas 9.0, and i can't get a single back-up to complete successfully. they all fail on corrupted files trying to be backed up. the catch is, that each time its different files that vertias claims are corrupt.

honestly, i could care less if back-up to back-up v-tas thinks that different files are corrupt...fine, be that way, but is there any way that i can tell it to just skip those files and move on without having it totally fail the job? any help would be awesome.

What files are corrupt? Mailbox backup or file system backup? Upgraded to 9.1 with sp4 - it free upgrade and it may start eliminating some failure

sounds like a good start....you got a link where i can grab that upgrade from?

many thanks

There is a Veritas article on this that I couldn't find to give you but there is a reg hack that will prevent Backup Exec from reporting corrupt files as failed jobs.

Run REGEDT32.EXE
Highlight the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup
On the menu bar, select Edit | Add Value
In the Value name field, type in "Fail Jobs On Corrupt Files"
For the Data Type, select REG_DWORD
When prompted for the Data, type in "0" (without the quotes)
Click OK
Close REGEDT32
