Hello,
All our systems have xp pro sp2. Whenever I repair the LAN connection I get a cant refresh DNS error at the end.
The reason I am trying to clear the DNS cache is I am having a problem where my router is getting destination Ip address limits to address 192.168.12.20 every 10 minutes, it is taking up resources on my router so my vpn users are noticing a slow down.
Whenver I type ipconfig /all on the systems they have two DNS and WINS entries, one is correct and the other (192.168.12.20) is the address of our old DNS and WINS server of our main location. We have separated from that location a year ago but the address still stays in the cache of the workstations.
I tried deleting all entries of 192.168.12.20 from the registry but once i repair the LAN connection they are added back in. I also tried the /flushdns command but that didnt work either.
Any suggestions?
