In design mode there is nothing to "Grab" on the right side so I can resize a form. I have also tried :DoCmd.MoveSize 1440, .5*1440, 8 * 1440, 5.75 * 1440.
But on open the form fill the entire screed. My problem might be in the options which I have tried al sort of combinations.

Any help would be great.

Document window options set to Tabbed Documents. Access 10. If its not working I assume it should be set to Overlapping?

Tried that with no success. I have about 10 things if found on the web and nothing seems to let me resize the opening form.
Tried these in the On Open event

DoCmd.MoveSize 1440, 0.5 * 1440, 8 * 1440, 5.75 * 1440 or
Me.InsideWidth = 3 * 1440 ' (3 is inches and 1440 is the number of TWIPS in an inch)
Me.InsideHeight = 4.5 * 1440

Tried with various properties turned off or depending on the solution I found on the web.

I can find no instruction as to how to resize an opening form, just bits and pieces scattered about that don't fit together.

Seems to be a black art.

You can't shrink a form narrower or shorter than its controls will allow. Since you haven't stated anything about the controls, I assume you have them to far to the right.

There are 5 textboxes and 1 button. In design view the form is 6 X 6 on the rulers and all the controls fit nicely in those dimensions. But when in Form view it covers the whole of my 24 inch monitor, and all the controls are way to the left. Seems to me I should be able to make it display smaller. Just can't figure out how do make it happen.

Thanks and Happy Holiday

I found it. The answer is Overlapping Windows in the options settings.
