Cant Change resolutions or other setting in window 98

hello ppls
i have a PIII500 with 128MB ram and viper v770agp ultrarpo
i am using profiles and i cant seem to change the setings on me display (screen area or color depth)
when i change to another of the profiles everything works fine. durther more when i change the settings in the other profile it reflects on the curropted one but i cannot still chznge anything there. i have removed and reremoved all the drivers. installed newes drivers from the chip manufecturer (nvidia)
and nothing
it is just stuck in oine setting all the time.

where is profile coming from . i had problems with profiles on a server that where downloaded to the desktop as the profile was mandatory on the server . I changed the profile on the server to *.dat and then deleted the existing profiles on the desktop before logging into the desktop as that user . Try deleting the profile that isn't working and then copy the working profile into the same name as the one that doesn't work on the desktop or on the server .
