I installed Windows XP with profiles on my upstairs PC and mapped a drive to the "My Documents" folder on my Windows 2000 Pro.downstairs PC. All my data lives in this PC and is backed up with a tape drive each night. Problem is, I told Excel XP where to save my data on this mapped drive and it worked fine until I changed my mapped drive location and attempted to tell Excel Where to go for the new mapped drive. When I attempt to change this location in Excel XP under Tools, Options, General, I get an error message when I try to open the general tab. "Mapped drive location can no longer be found" I tryed to set the map back to the orginal location but it still errors out when I attempt to enter the general tab to do this. Is there a place where I can rename the file in Excel that stores all of the default information so I can restablish my new mapped drive?
Any suggestions??

I'm not sure in Win2K, but try the registry:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\10.0\excel

take a look-see in the folders under there for the default file location. Shouldn't be hard to find. May be under hkey_local_machine tho. Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
