Can't capture PAL to NTSC in premiere pro

A friend of mine taped a video in a DV tape with his Sony Handycam PAL. When I tried to capture the video from my Sony DCR-TRV25, it plays fine on the camera. However, when I tried to capture it with my TRV25, Premiere Pro 2 doens't see anything not even any audio. Does anyone know what happened and a way to fix it? (It captures fine with other DV taped by TRV25 itself.)

I am guessing that your question relates to replaying a PAL tape in an NTSC camera.

My experience is only of NTSC replay on PAL equipment, where the conversion of PAL-NTSC for viewing on a TV is incomplete and not recordable. I would therefore guess that a similar issue is what is stopping you recording PAL on an NTSC system.
