Can't cancel Veritas restore job

I tried doing a restore yesterday using Veritus Backup Exec 8.6. It sat for quite a while with a job status of "loading media". I canceled it and left for the day. When I came in this morning it was still running and displaying the same message. I don't seem to be able to cancel it. I tried rebooting the server and the job finally displayed canceled but then another version of the restore job started (same job number as before). I tried to cancel it and I'm back to where I started. The active job diplay shows "cancel queued". The cancel selection is greyed out and I don't see any other options to take.

Any suggestions?

Operator error....

There was an alert message on the alert tab and the job would not respond to cancel until I addressed it.
