I have a Tally printer that when I try to cancel a print job the job simply doesn't cancel. Only thing I can do is to shut the printer off, disable the printer, then I can cancel the print job. It appears to be just the one printer that I have to cancel this way. Any ideas?

Not sure I understand the problem...Do you get an error message...does it just keep printing.........can you cancel a job that isn't printing?

Maybe the Tally printer has a heck of a buffer...which means that the job is downloaded to the printer and continues to print until the buffer is empty...even though the job is cancelled. Or it is not receiving the signal to stop on the right pins?

If you get an error, it might be helpful to let us know what it says....
You might try jobs after the one printing to see if they cancel? etc...

One last question.....how are you cancelling the job?
Are you the owner of the job you are cancelling.....local or remote printer?
version of AIX?
