Hi, I'm trying to setup a router-router vpn between Draytek Vigor2800G (as the vpn server) and Netgear DG834G (as the client).

After a long battle, I have a connection which enables me to ping ip's from one lan to the other, use remote desktop and I can access the http login of the remote router.

I can't, however, browse network shares, even using the ip (e.g. typing //192.168.1.2/ in explorer from a pc on the 192.168.0.0 subnet).

Pinging remote pc's using their hostnames also fails.

I can post the setup information for both router's if necessary (although that will make it quite a long and complicated post). All pc's run XP Pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Chris Carlisle

Not sure if thats just a typo or if thats how you tried to connect to the share but you should do it like this:

\\192.168.1.2\

My apologies, yes that was a typo. Trying to run \\192.168.1.2\ (or similar) fails with 'Network path was not found' from either end.
