Hello all,

We have Windows 2003 Enterprise server. I am unable to connect to the internet (or ping outside). Here is little more info.

1. I can connect to computers on the network just fine.
2. I can ping internal computers just fine
3. My gateway is set to 'Sonicwall' firewall
4. I can ping my gateway
5. It has Static IP
6. Firewall on the server is disabled
7. There is only TCP/IP on the NIC
8. There is only one NIC on the server
9. All the other computers connect to internet just fine
10. All the computers (including server) is directly connected to the switch (It is not a shared connection)

I can't ping outside the network or I can't connect through browser.

Please let me know If I am missing something.

Thanks

Check your default gateway. Mabey there is a type-o?

from a command prompt do a route print. That will show you your routing table. If your not sure how to print it, post it here, and I'll take a look at it.

When I do tracert....

I get '*' from from the firin all the lines in all the columns.

I will try route print and give the info (I am in a different location now).

Let me correct my writing in the previous post!

When I do tracert....

I see '*' in all the values (all lines).

so your machine doesn't know how to get to the net. Sounds like it's either a routing problem on the machine, or the default gateway is setup incorrectly. Or the router is rejecting the packets from your machine.

Please help

ok, that looks ok to me. Your machines IP is 192.168.168.1. Your subnetmask is 255.255.255.0. Your default gateway is 192.168.168.168.

The routing on the machine looks good. So it knows where to send the data. Try changing IPs. The SonicWall might not like having your machine on .1. Normally the SonicWall would be .1, and that might be throwing it off.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I don't have access to this server anymore. So I won't be able test it.
