I need to install Solaris 8 on a V440. It has a DVD-ROM drive and I have a Solaris 8 (2/02) DVD Media from Sun (I didn't burn it myself).

The system currently has Solaris 10 on it and the DVD mounts with no problem.
Code:

Does anyone know how to boot to the Solaris DVD?

That message just means that the there are no kernel files for that hardware on that distribution of Solaris 8.

Like Max says 7/03 is the release that started including the 440, 240, 480, etc....kernel files.
