can't boot from network when harddisk is attched

Hi guys...i need some help...

i have to set up a workstation with remote boot capability...it's done ...the w/s can get a reply and boot from server...but...

if i attach a harddrive...what happen is as follow...
first the screen is showing "configuring(type h to boot from hard disk)",after that it will find a server,get a reply and showing "Novell Bootstrap Protocol..bla..bla" and after that it goes blank.....
If I detach the harddisk..it goes allright
The card i use is Compex Rl100ATX 10/100

Can anyone help me?
