Urgent help here would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running a NT4 SP6a file server called PSY_1 with Backup Exec 8.6 Edition Family Upgrade + Remote Agent. When I use the wizard to create a new backup job I go through the 'backup selections' window to find the other server(s) I want to backup. (My path being Remote Selections>Microsoft Windows Network>PSY(The domain)>REN_1(One of the servers I want to backup) However, when I double click REN_1 to expand it the program just freezes and I have to go into Task Manager to close it down. I have the same problem with the Sony NAS i'm trying to backup (Using W2k) but PSY_1 that has Exec 8.6 + DLT backs up fine. All three servers have the remote agent software installed. I'm new to this software so if i'm doing something really stupid please tell me!!!!!

Thanks! :D

You say you loaded Remote agent on three servers, did you input three different licenses for the Remote Agents?

Thanks for replying!

Yes i've used the same code for all three servers, do I need to buy another 2 licences then? Surely Backup Exec would tell me this and not just lock up? Also, does the remote agent need to be installed on the media server?

Backup Exec doesn't tell much. I had several problems with trying to get it to work until I found out that I was missing licenses.

I have two remote servers and needed two licenses. Check with Veritas to make sure you do need more than one.

Yep I spoke to my software vendor and I need an extra licence (The media server doesn't need the remote agent installed)

Thank you for your help. New user to Tek-Tips and I find it 'very' useful!
