Can't assign lines to extension 1

I am trying to assign our 4 lines to extension 17. I have Number of Lines (#104) set to 4. When I go into Line Assignment (#301), frustration ensues. On extension 10, we access the programming via feature 00, blah blah blah, #301. Once into #301, we press 01 to assign the first line and it pops up with 2 Not assigned. Pressing the Next Data button at this point results in an angry beep and neither pressing a button nor pressing next data does anything good, only more angry beeps. How can I assign an outgoing line to extension 17?

Press 1 to assign to the first available button, the button will have a green light,or press 3 then assign it to whatever button you want.

The first two buttons are flashing red, and don't seem to respond to the 03 option to allow them to be reprogrammed. Any idea how to make them customizable? The first two lines are flashing red and the second two are no light at all. Thank you for your help.

I'd bet your system is in Pool mode, and your extension is set for Pool access, the 2 red buttons are pool 880.

Try doing a copy (#399) from Ext. 10 (which is always in Key mode) to the extension you want to assign the the lines to.

Thank you for your help! I should probably look into "Pool Mode", but for now, I'm just grateful to have extension 17 able to make outgoing calls. Thanks again!!
