I go in "User manager for domain".
And when I try to add a user I get a message that this user already exists.

I had this problem for months, I was able to manage by renaming users, but now I really need to add some users.

Thank you.

In NT you can´t have multiple usernames. If you try to add a name that already exists, an error message appears.

Do this happen when you enter a new username as well?

Hi.

Yes, I try to enter a new username, the user name doesn't exists but when I click on add I get a message that the user already exists in this group.
I did try to remove this group but I get the message that user as to be at least part of the primary group.
The name of this group is Domain users.
Even if i try bogus usernames like: fdsfs or anything else i still get a message that user already exists.
But I can rename the ones that are already there without any problem.

Thank you.

I was going to suggest the same thing. You can sort out many wierd problem by installing/reinstalling the latest servicepack.
If that doesn´t work try going to usermanager for domains on another computer.
how big is your network? Do you use several domain with some kind of push/pull trust? [sig]
Nostradamus

[/sig]
