Have a single forest, multiple domain setup. Trusts are setup between companya.local and companyb.local. AD seems OK (dcdiag comes up fine). companya.local was first domain in forest, and has enterprise admin group there.

Now trying to install Exchange on companyb.local, and need to fun forestprep, but that requires user with enterprise admin priveleges. When I go to companya.local and try to add companyb.local/Uses/Administrator it tells me nothing can be found...

AD Sites and Services show both domains fine.

Does anyone know how I can give a user in companyb.local enterprise admin priveleges?

i believe either you have DNS lookup failure or AD repl issue, check them out. b.com DC point where for DNS? run repadmin to confirm the replication on DCs.
