Can't add new users

I can't seem to "add Users" with the Admin application. I can modify priviledges to existing users, etc. I just can't add new ones.I keep getting the error below:

Invalid DOS path: \\Invensys-drwg\engineering\Visual SourceSafe Projects\users


I've checked my access to this path and I have full access to this folder on my server. I've manually been able to add folders/files to this folder
