I have Arcserve V9. In order to span tapes I have purchased an additional SDLT drive. I now have one drive that shows as a Quantun SDLT 320 and one that shows as Dell PV110T SDLT 320. When I try to put them in the same group I get Can not add ... group has other type of drives. They are the same type drive just different vendors. Any way to get this to work?

Not sure if it will work but you can try getting them both on the same firmware revision.

If the SCSI inquiry returns a different device string (even though technically they may be the exact same drive) you will not be able to add them to the same group. There is no workaround to this.

Thanks for the help, It's not what I wanted to hear but.... I will swap drives with a branch office to get two identical drives and try again.
