Ok, i recently switched to verizon FiOS fiber service at my home. I used cable before. I host a website on my home pc so i can get to files in a certain shared folder when i am away. It worked great on cable for a few years. I switch to fios an get "page cannot be displayed".
I talekd to FiOS support, and technically they don't want you hosting your own websites, so he told me they block port 80 incoming to my house, which is fine. He said it should work fine on another port.
I went into IIS, right-clicked default website, and tried a slew of ports. No matter what i do, i can't get in remotely. I can get through fine on FTP, or even on VNC, so i know my port forwarding is working. I even went as far as pulling my pc off the router, and directly connecting it to FiOS with no router at all, hence no port fowarding necessary. Still doesnt work.
Am i correct in thinking that all i have to do is swap out 80 for something else in IIS, and then connect to it remotely by using "
If i can't get this working i'll likely cancel FiOS, which is a shame considering how fast it is. help!!! Thanks.
Thanks,
Andrew
