Can't access web from BEM

I have a BCM 50 and was going to install Unified Messaging. he instructions say to use the web page to download the software for the computer. However, all i get is a command prompt C:\users\name\.bcm\BEM\.bin> I downloaded the new BEM from Nortel and am having the same problem. The unit is a bcm 50e 3.0

You don't need BEM to download user programs from the BCM. Just open a browser and put the IP address of the BCM into the address bar. It will have you login, but then you will be able to find the download link. Save then run the program from the desktop of the PC you're installing the software.

If you get an error when accessing the web page, make sure you have Java Update 6 Rls 18 or higher installed on the PC.
