I have a customer with an OS 7400 system. I can access programming through the device manager but when I try to access any of the options through the VMAA program I get an error saying "no SVMi20 card installed" The SVMi20 card is installed and working. I get the same error whether I am using the DM on my laptop or the DM on the customer's PC that is connected to the Samsung. I can access programming through the tel set to make greeting and mailbox changes. I needed to make some changes to the auto attendant call routing. Currently they have a PRI with calls ringing the receptionist. They want calls to ring the auto attendant instead. We were able to record a greeting but I can't get calls to ring the auto attendant. I tried pointing their DID number to the VM group (5049) but calls kept ringing receptionist. If she didn't answer calls kept ringing with no answer.

Checking the programming there are some items programmed I was not familiar with.
On individual trunk ringing the program shows "08E0"
On fixed call forward no answer program shows "C6S2". Phones go to voice mail box if no answer.

I am wondering if it is a defect in the SVMi20 card although the mailboxes are working fine. I do know the customer has reset the system by powering off when their PRI isn't connecting. When doing this they havn't done the SVMi shutdown procedure.

Is the SVMi-20 an E or I? SVMi-20E are accessible first off through the serial port with Hyperterminal or similar program.

A1D05 is correct. Yes the SVMi-20E is Legacy VM and shows the age of the system. They are only viewable via Serial. If you have a Blue Cisco lead knocking about they are perfect for the terminal connection via RS-232 and Hyper Terminal. Once you get your ports setup correct you'll see it in the terminal window booting up and the idle VM channels

Nothing wrong with the VM its just old tech. Generally they work well.
