i have a big big problem with my computer and wanna get help from u. I was trying to create a new partition on my computer because i wanted to install win2k on that partition. I was using PartitionMagic 6.0 pro. I chose to create a partition in Fat32 (1,4gig) because it was the max that i can get on a 30gigs (6gig free). After I restart my computer, PartitionMagic was doing the task and then, at 35%, it stopped. Then, I rebooted my computer. After the reboot, nothing worked. It says "invalid system disk" even if I didn't have any disk in the floppy drive. When i put a boot disk in my floppy, I can see that I have 2 partition.
1. Non-Dos, 28629Mb, (100% usage), nothing under "system"
2. C: "Active" Pri-dos, 2047Mb, (7% usage) "unknown" under "system"
What should I do now??? I cannot access to the drive C: even in DOS and cannot boot my computer in Safe Mode anymore. I can neither install any OS cos it says that there is not enough available spce on disk. One thingg that Im sure is that on the 28629mb partition, it is not full. Plz help me when u get back cos if not, I will lose 20gig of important files. Thx, bye.

If you have a Partition Magic rescue disk, boot to it and set the partition with your operating system on it to active. You can also use a Windows or DOS boot disk with fdisk on it. In fdisk choose Set Active Partition then choose the correct partition.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Welll.... You can boot to a windows cd without any partitions or formatting. Win2000 will automatically setup your partitions and formats at your specifications. You can also use fdisk and format to easily partition your hard drive and depend on the win2000 cd to format your partition to NTFS and fat32 settings.
