We have PC's running Windows 98 that access a shared drive on an NT workstation. However when we install Novell's Client for NetWare (Version 3.3). We can no longer access the shared NT drive. We get the following error message:
"\\NTWorkstation\C is not accessible
This folder was moved or removed"
When we install Microsoft's Client for Netware we can access the shared drive with no problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

-Thanks [sig][/sig]

On a 98 workstation, you will need both the Novell and MS Client. This is because the 3.x client does not have the features built into it to authenticate to an NT workstation or NT server. The Novell client for NT has the ability to login to both.

Hope this helps. [sig]<p>Mark C. Greenwood, CNE<br><a href=mailto:m_jgreenwood@yahoo.com>m_jgreenwood@yahoo.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>CNE 4.11 and CNE 5 certified. BS Degree in MIS. Working in the industry for 8 years. <br>

Thanks man! I do have one question though, Client for Microsoft Networking is already installed. How can I access the mapped drive on the NT workstation?

Thanks :) [sig][/sig]

Using Windows Explorer you could map to the NT drive. You will need to change the Explorer option to display the MAP Dive button on the Icon bar so that you can execute the map. Then you can browse to the computer (by name), drive and folder or directky enter the information into the field. [sig][/sig]

you can also use the NET USE command NET USE G:=\\<server>\<SHARE> etc

If you are trying to access the server across a router boundary, you may have to implement an lmhost file as well. [sig]<p>Mark C. One more thing. With the Net use command, you can use this in either the Novell login script or the NT login script. There is a TID which references this usage, and it may or may not work on the Novell side. [sig]<p>Mark C.
