Can't access resource using UNC only using IP?

This happens from time to time and I'm at my wits end. I have a Lacie NAS drive. Users can not access the drive using it's UNC only it's IP address. Sometimes if I restart the drive everything is OK, other times not. See attached graphic. Any thoughts?

I used to have this issue with SNAP servers. Try creating a manual DNS (and/or WINS if you have one around) record for the device instead of relying on the NAS's ability to broadcast using NetBIOS

You could also add an entry to the user's PC(s) HOSTS files so that the name will resolve even when the DNS is not working.
