Wasn't really sure where to post this query, but the printer in question is on a network which is using a LinkSys 10/100 8-Port workgroup switch, so I guess this is the right forum.

We have recently had two new computers installed on our network. They can access the server and network drives, but I can't get them to see either of our network printers. What do I do?

This is more likely a Windows setup issue than a router problem, although there is brand new firmware for your model router and I strongly recommend going to the Linksys site and updating your firmware.

For the two new computers, see the recent thread: thread779-943906

To help you better can you answer these quick questions..

What operating system are you using? Also can you do the basic tests to the printers like ping?
How are they networked? Do you create a port on each computer or are the printers shared on a server?

gtmoore's requests are reasonable. I just did not want the issue of a router firmware to be confused with your Windows version. The latest firmeware update for your router is a must have, as it resolves some serious issues with DHCP lease renewal. This is required no matter your Windows version.

Do you have a linksys router or just a workgroup switch?

gtmoore,

Good question. I assumed with both LAN and internet access a router was involved. My bad.

Best,
Bill
