Am at customer site now:

MICS: Can't seem to get the system to allow exts to dial 9 for outside line.

Programmed lines into pool-a and then sets to access pool a.

Can I get the step by step for setting this up or an archive of instrutions.

AA is answering ok on all 5 lines and transferring to stations but set says someting like "Restricted by Admin" when dialing 9.

Look under sytem programming at Access Codes then Line Pool Codes. Make sure that you have 9 as the code for Pool A.

Found out what the problme was. Only 2nd system I have reinstalled for the MICS.

I assumed that I would be programming all trunk number starting at 001. Found out that it varies ended up just dialing in via the AA and noticed that the trunk number was displayed on the set. Thank gawd cause I bet I would still be sitting there pulling my hair out.

Got all 5 lines working ok.

I do have a question. Can I renumber them to a more logical numbering format like 001 thru 005 or 100-105 or is the dictated by the ports installed into the KSU?

i would really like to just attached the AMP cable right ont the KSU. IS this possible instead of running it in via the fiber optic cable?

what do you suggest?

P.S. as a result of my error I was programming the lines and sets properly but programming the wrong loop ports.

If you want to have the incoming call appear as "LINE 1", for example, in programming, go to each of the lines & change the name of it.

Thanks. Is that under line data?

Go into CONFIG
Select LINES
Show Line (line number)
Show
Next
Hit the CHANGE softkey & type in the name of the line.

I have set-up our system so the telephone number of the line is the name. It makes it easier when there is a problem on the line (the user will say, for example, line xxxyyyy has static on it).

Good luck
