My PC is XP Pro. I have tried to install SonicWall VPN client, but failed. The reason is IPSec driver related. Tried a few times of install and uninstall. Still can't get it going. I decided not to install the VPN client...

Then... When I tried to access other computers on my LAN, I can't get to anything. They can't be accessed. I ran CMD ipconfig /all... there is nothing, only "Windows IP Configuration".

I have searched the internet for solutions and I can't seem to find the fix... I am not a network guy. So help please...

years ago I ran into the same issue with the VPN client. VPN software often have a module attached to the network interface called deterministic shim, even when the software is uninstalled it remains. From memory I searched the registry, removed references, but can't remember the keyword I used.

Search google for Sonicwall vpn deterministic shim removal.

Look at the output of the command 'route print'. It is possible that your gateway has been redefined to the virtual interface from the VPN and network traffic is going into the void. If this is the case, you should be able to delete the route.
