Can't access Contivity 2700 management interface

We have a Contivity 2700 that seems to loose management access via the web once a month or so. A reset of the box recovers the access. Nortel hasn't been able to tell me why this is happening. Has anyone seen this and/or know why this might be happening?
 
When you say "via the web" is this a public or private ip
network ? Any possibility of trying the console port when this happens ?

I should have been more specific. I am trying to manage the switch via GUI browser interface. When I console into the box I get a "phthon" error every time I try to run a command. The box itself is up. All our Branch Office tunnels are running fine. Like I said we have always had to reset the box to clear this in the past. We are running code v4.80.124.
 
what software ? and do you use NTP?

There is memory bug in 4.x.x I can find the correct sw where the bug is. When all memory is gone, there is'nt anything to hadle web gui..

Try to turn off NTP if that is enable.
 
I think the NTP bug is in 4.80_124, do you have access to sw ?
 
We are not running NTP. However I am going to try and upgrade the code tonight to v4.85.200. Hopefully this will resolve some of the other issues we have been seeing.
 
We got the code upgrade last night to the 2700 and several branch offices. Hopefully this will help.
