IS-IT--Management
Hi,
Windows 2000/II5/FrontPage 2000.
I'm trying to set up a site which has an "Intranet" area. What I want to do is allow the Intranet users to use FrontPage to update the Intranet area but not anything else.
I've set up the site and the Intranet directory, and set the permissions so that anyone can read the whole site except the Intranet area, and "IntranetUser" group can read everything and have write access to the Intranet area.
When "IntranetUsers" browse the site they can see all of it, and when they visit the Intranet portion they get prompted for user/password. So far so good. But when they try to edit an Intranet file, by clicking on the "Edit" button which is set up to launch FrontPage2000 they get prompted *again* for credentials, and then FP2000 is launched with the page in it. However after making the changes, when they try to save the save dialog open against the local disk. Typing in the correct URL results in a message "Can't find URL...".
This used to work with WinNT4SP6a/IIS4/FP2000. Configs seem to be the same on both machines. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Cliff
