Canon LC5500

Hello

We have a Canon LC 5500 Fax machine. For some reason it will not except faxes but is able to send them. I was able to send jobs to the fax machine before, but it seems like a setting has been reset so that it wont automatically accept incoming faxes. One of our employees started to press buttons one day when he was having an issue with the fax and it hasn't worked since.

Does anyone know how to reset the fax so that it will automatically accept incoming faxes. I am unable to locate our manual and there is no resources easily available elsewhere

The unit may be configured for "Manual' mode, and it should be in either 'Fax Only' mode, 'Fax/Tel' mode(if a telephone is connected to it), or 'Answer Machine' mode(if an answering machine is connected to it) in order for it to automatically accept faxes.
You should be able to select one of these modes in the 'Multipass Desktop Manager' on the computer where the unit's software was installed. Go to Start/Programs/Canon Multipass Desktop Manager 3.0/Canon Multipass Desktop Manager. If that shortcut does not exist, then look for a Desktop shortcut. If that's also non-existant, then open Windows Explorer, and open Program Files/Canon/Multipass. If no luck with that, then search the hard drive for Canon or Multipass.
